Dubai International Marine Sports Club unveils 40-event calendar for 2026-2027 season
July initiative aims to develop future UAE sailing talent
DUBAI – The Dubai International Marine Sports Club (DIMC) has announced an extensive calendar of races, championships and community initiatives for the 2026-2027 sports season, with 40 events scheduled between September 2026 and April 2027.
The programme will feature a mix of traditional and modern marine sports, with competitions taking place both across the UAE and internationally. The announcement comes as the Club also prepares to welcome young sailing enthusiasts to its annual Summer Sailing Camp this July.
Busy season
The new sporting calendar reflects DIMC's continued commitment to strengthening Dubai's position as a leading destination for marine sports. Running over eight months, the programme will bring together a diverse range of marine competitions, including traditional and contemporary disciplines that have become key fixtures on the regional sporting calendar.
The packed schedule includes 40 races, championships and sporting events, giving professional competitors and marine sports enthusiasts multiple opportunities to participate throughout the season. Events will be staged both within the UAE and overseas, highlighting the Club's growing international presence.
Summer camp
Ahead of the new season, DIMC has also opened registration for its 2026 Summer Sailing Camp, which will run from 8th to 30th July at Bulgari Beach in Dubai.
Designed to introduce children and young people to sailing, the programme combines classroom learning with practical on-water training under the supervision of qualified coaches. The sessions will be conducted in a professional environment that prioritises safety while helping participants develop technical ability, teamwork and self-confidence.
Training will take place twice a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Participants can choose between two daily sessions, with the first running from 7am to 8am and the second from 9am to 10am, offering flexibility for different schedules.
Future talent
Mohammed Hareb, Executive Director of Dubai International Marine Club, said the Summer Sailing Camp forms part of the Club's long-term strategy to expand community participation in marine sports while nurturing the next generation of sailors.
He said the programme gives children and young people the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of sailing under the guidance of specialised coaches while building confidence and teamwork skills in line with the highest safety standards.
Hareb added that initiatives such as the camp are also intended to identify promising young sailors who could go on to represent both the Club and the UAE in major international competitions.
The Summer Sailing Camp is part of DIMC's wider strategy to encourage participation in marine activities across different age groups while promoting sports that combine recreation with physical and mental development. Parents can register their children through the dedicated QR code available on the Club's official social media platforms, with training taking place at Bulgari Beach throughout the programme.
